Content, SEO and Google Analytics

Content Marketing

Content marketing marks a departure from traditional marketing methods, as it focuses on the provision of valuable and relevant information to customers. “Our Exchange” is a project that if handled carefully, is likely to generate an immense following, particularly because of the objective angle it hopes to adopt towards the analysis of various issues in business. These episodes, particularly interviews with experts and the interactive segment, are likely to generate important objective content that the customer’s trust. Therefore, if directed properly, the show would be able to generate essential objective and valuable content that can then be utilized as part of its digital marketing strategy. In particular, the show can ensure that it posts transcripts of the interviews from previous episodes, as these are likely to generate important traffic, and ensure viewers who might have missed important segments of the moving interviews, are able to catch up. The insight provided by the experts invited to the show constitutes important content that would be applicable to real life situations. The content generated from the expert interviews and the interactive segments will then be used to develop criteria for judging products or services from different industries, with the different episodes and guest experts offering important diverse views leading to rich content. Other than being popular amongst the consumers, the content will also help attract sponsors, whose products or services meet the criteria mentioned in the content. Sponsorship can even be linked to the number of keywords from the selected sponsors that have been added to the generated content. Other than being keyword rich, the most important attributes of the content adopted from the episodes will be their relevance and value, particularly to the target market including entrepreneurs, executives, MBA students and managers.

SEO Strategy

The main aim of the SEO strategy will obviously be to generate increased traffic to the programs web page, as well as other associated web pages, including social media. As such, ensuring the content is rich in keywords that identify it with the sponsors, as well as the television program will be of paramount importance, as the web pages, and associated pages will be hoping the popularity of the program generates sufficient traffic; although the reverse might also be true. GoogleTrends could be an important source of debate topics, particularly on social media pages such as twitter and Facebook. Based on the level of traffic generated by the trending topics, the show may then opt to invite an expert on the select topic, and from that develop relevant valuable content which can then be posted on the website, or on associated pages. Such a strategy will also ensure that the content is rich in niche and unique keywords, and the website is updated regularly. By adopting such a strategy, the company will ensure that a significant percentage of the content is user generated, which is likely to encourage even more traffic leading to a good website and program rating, as well as the building of a sense of community. Creating a community that is critical and capable of shaping public opinion, could be important when it comes to attracting sponsors.

The company can ensure simplicity, particularly on the website page and important connected pages, by choosing an appropriate domain name that identifies it with the show. Furthermore, the use of meta tags, headers, descriptions and site maps, could serve the purpose of simplifying navigation through the pages. This would ensure that users are able to find information they are looking for easily, or add information and views. This simplified structuring of the website could also improve its search engine ranking; hence considerably improve online traffic, which could be good for digital marketing.

The Use of Google Analytics

Google Analytics could be an important resource that the company uses to tweak its digital strategy, particularly its approach to content and search engine optimization. This is based on the fact that it will provide important statistics regarding the nature of visitor traffic, as well as the most popular paths through which people arrive at the program’s website. Knowledge of who is visiting the site or associated pages, as well as how they arrive at these pages, will be very important, as it will form the basis upon which the SEO strategy and the content can be evaluated. In particular, the evaluation will be aimed at establishing whether the two approaches adopted are attracting the target audience that includes entrepreneurs, executives, MBA students and managers. In addition, the route the audience takes to arrive at the page in question, could also reveal whether or not, there is a need to direct greater resources to the given route. For instance, if the traffic analysis reveals that a majority of the visitors arrive at the website from the programs social media page, this would denote a need to increase the programs social media presence, and engage in greater debate through the social media, as it attracts a considerable number of the target population. In addition to helping attract the target population, and consequently sponsors, proper utilization of Google Analytics, will ensure the company is aware of the exact online following it has, and their attributes, making it easier to negotiate with potential sponsors.

Finance Homework

  1. Compute the present value of $100 in t years for the following combinations of discount rates and times:
    1. r = 10 percent, t = 10 years

PV = FV * (1 + i)-n

= 100(1.1)-10 =  $38.55

  1. r = 10 percent, t = 20 years

= 100 (1.1)-20 = $14.86

  1. r = 5 percent, t = 10 years

= 100 (1.05)-10 = $61.35

  1. r = 5 percent, t = 20 years

= 100 (1.05)-20 = $37.69

  1. Would you prefer to receive $10,000 in one year or $20,000 in five years, if the interest rate is
    1. 0 percent?

PV = FV * (1 + i)-n

                       PV(10,000) = 10,000 PV(20,000)= 20,000 Prefer $20,000

  1. 10 percent?

PV = 10,000 (1.1)-1 = $9091 PV = 20,000 (1.1)-5 = $12418 Prefer $20,000

  1. 20 percent?

PV= 10,000 (1.2)-1 = $8333 PV = 20,000 (1.2)-5 = $8038 Prefer 10,000

  1. Find the interest rate implied by the following:
    1. Present value = 100, future value = 171, years = 11

PV = FV * (1 + i)-n

100 = 171 (1+r)-11

1+r = (100/171)-1/11

1+r = 1.05 r = 1.05-1 = 0.05 = 5%

  1. Present value = 200, future value = 322.10, years = 5

200 = 322.10 (1+r)-5

1+r = (200/322.10)-1/5

1+r = 1.1 r = 1.1 – 1 = 0.1 = 10%

  1. What is the present value of the following stream of cash flows: $200 in one year, $300 in two years and $400 in three years if the interest rate is 8%?

PV = C * (1-(1+i)-n /i)

PV (200) = 200*(1-(1.08)-1/0.08) = $185.19

PV(300) = 300 * (1-(1.08)-2/0.08) = $534.98

PV(400) = 400 * (1-(1.08)-3/0.08) = $1030.84

  1. Suppose you have just celebrated your 19th birthday. A rich uncle has set up a trust fund for you that will pay you $150,000 when you turn 30. If the relevant discount rate is 9 percent, how much is this fund worth today?

PV = FV * (1 + i)-n

PV = 150,000 * (1.09)-30 = $11,305.67

  1. Your parents will retire in 18 years.  They currently have $250,000, and they think that they will need $1,000,000 at retirement.  What interest rate must they earn to reach their goal (assuming they will not save any additional funds)?

PV = FV * (1 + i)-n

250, 000 = 1000,000 (1 + r)-18

1 + r = (250,000/1,000,000)-1, 18

r = 1.08 – 1 = 0.08 = 8%

  1. If you deposit your money today in an account that pays 6.5% annual interest, how long will it take to double your money?

PV = FV * (1 + i)-n

1 = 2 (1.065)-n

log0.5 = -nlog1.065

-n = -11 n = 11 years.

The California management review is a review by Vogel David. It has been published for the Hass School of business. The primary focus of the article is that the author has attempted to establish a communication between those who study management and all those who practice it. It is a quarterly management journal. It was established in 1958 and it presents researched based content. It aims to facilitate the findings in the contemporary scholarly business and also to address the issues that are a lot of concern to the managers. The journal has an impact factor of 1.667. The contributors of CMR include management consultants, senior executives, policy makers and other senior executives. The journal is published quarterly.

The five main points from the article are as follows:

  1. CMR has laid emphasis on three different areas of critical importance to both the practicing managers and the       academic researchers. All of the above areas are vital to understand the organizational theory.
  2.  They are global competition and competitiveness, business and public policy and strategy and organization. The issues mentioned above are pressing areas of concern.
  3. It has focused on the contemporary developments in the global economy, strategicplanning, and strategies for innovation, managing human resources, business ethics and corporate culture.
  4. CMR shall release “special issues” like the spring 2013 issuetaht had focused on the intellectual property management. The journal comes up with certain specific issues that give a host of information.
  5.  The journal also has Case series which is a collection of business case studies. The case settings are intended for their role in the educational settings. Case studies are a good method of understanding the real scenarios that the organizations face in routine business.

The journal shall be great interest to the class as it shall teach us how to communicate effectively between the people who study management and those who practice it. The class shall benefit a lot by getting to understand the many facets of researched based content. The case studies are especially useful as the class will benefit from the previous case studies.

Approaches in selling

There are several approaches that must be practiced by sales people in order to have successful sales in their products. The first main approach that is most commonly used is that of introductory approach. This approach is crucial for the sales man as it determines if the client will buy the product or not. The introductory approach is normally seen as an important step towards making a sale (Louis 2003). The sales man is expected to introduce him or herself and give a brief description of the product. The most common way of introduction that sales men are supposed to use on the prospects is by greeting them first, then they go ahead to introduce the name of the company to the prospect, this gives the prospect a better idea of where the products come from.

A second other approach that is commonly used in selling is that of product approach (Louis 2003). In this approach, the salesman is expected to fully give beneficial descriptions of the product. He or she has to give details on why the prospect should buy the product. The salesman should give enough details to the prospect on exactly where the products are coming from. This gives the prospect a sense of confidence on the products. The salesman is also expected to give alternative of different products so as to increase the chances of the customer buying the products. Salesmen do not walk with a single particular product because one product may seem to be inferior to others so it is recommended for a salesman to have many alternative products so as to satisfy the

The third approach, which is called the question approach, is used by sales men (Kim 2003). In this approach the sales man will ask certain questions so as to get an interview from the prospect. This approach really tries to understand fully what exactly the customer is really looking for in a product before buying it. The salesman in this approach will precisely know the exact product the prospect is looking for. The fourth approach is that of survey. In this approach, the sales man will have to carry out a survey of the prospect before an approach. This gives the salesman an advantage as he or she will be able to know the needs of the potential customer. The survey approach will also allow the salesman to carry out a survey on many people and that will increase the chances of the salesman selling the products.

Healthcare organizations need to adopt serious and important analysis to ensure that they provide credible services to the patients. The first major analysis that can be adopted is that of developing an action plan for implementation. This will ensure that the organization is well managed and provides the best possible services to the consumers. The other analysis that can be adopted is that of running pilot studies. Again here, pilot studies will ensure that health care organizations have all it takes to conduct credible services to consumers. Pilot studies really help to ensure that the organizations are managed effectively and things like costs workers and other aspects will be fully looked at to make sure that everything in the healthcare organizations are running smoothly.

The other analysis is that of providing healthcare FMEA tools. As technology changes, there is great need for healthcare organizations to have modern equipment’s so as to ensure that they provide quality services to the consumers. The main focus should always be on the patients in any healthcare organization. Patients need to be well taken care of and receive quality treatment so as healthcare organizations can achieve their main objectives.
